Maintenance

As timber is a natural product it does require maintenance. Upon installation two coats of decking oil should be applied to protect it from the elements. The length of time between coats is dependent on such factors as:

• Its location
• Exposure to the elements sun/rain
• Foot traffic

Its so easy to protect your deck simply reapply a good quality decking oil .Make sure the deck is clean of any foreign material then reapply with a lambswool applicator.Its best to reapply the oil before it looks grey ,dry or starts to cup. If left for too long the boards will degrade and may require a full replacement which can be costly and time consuming. To avoid this simply re oil the deck before any signs of wear show.
